Can you find your way through the Escape Vroom? Uncover a scorching new course for the August RMR autocross. Register early as these events are a hot commodity and sell out fast. 

For the mid summer event, we will have plenty of water on ice and other beverages, including adult, and snacks for post race enjoyment. But bring your own lunch as there are no concessions available. 

First time checking out autocross? You are very welcome and there are plenty of instructors to help you find your way. We also have loaner helmets available. The number one rule is have fun! Also we strive for the safest event possible.

The charity for this event is Food Bank of the Rockies. The mission of Food Bank of the Rockies is to ignite the power of community to nourish people facing hunger. We provide food and necessities to people in need through signature programs and by teaming up with hundreds of Hunger Relief Partners to serve communities across Colorado and Wyoming, the largest food bank coverage area in the contiguous United States. We believe that for a community to thrive, every member must have the resources they need to flourish, and we strive to provide proper nourishment for every neighbor.

Event requirements

Quick Eligibility & Paperwork 

  • Age: Event is open to licensed drivers, 16 or older. 
  • Junior drivers (16 - 17): Must complete the RMR Junior Participation forms (found under the Forms tab on the club website). Read instructions carefully. 

 

Registration (Pre-registration Required) 

  • Register early to secure a spot. 
  • PCA Club Members get priority if registered by August 14. 
  • After August 14: Remaining spots filled first come, first served based on registration date. 
  • Why pre-registration matters: Helps organizers plan timing, volunteers, setup, and “beer thirty.” 

 

Participants & Waiver Rules 

  • Non-driving participants are allowed, but they must: 

    • Sign the waiver 
    • Arrive before the gate closes 
    • Not permitted to do ride-alongs 

 

Vehicle Rules

Allowed: 

    • Porsche (all eligible models per class list) 
    • All other Marques are allowed (note the SUV rules below)
    • SUVs only if badged Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, or BMW 
  • Not allowed: 

  • Pickup trucks 

  • Convertibles are OK (top up or down is fine). 

 

Onsite Amenities (Plan Ahead) 

  • Port-a-potties available onsite 

  • No concessions onsite and none nearby 

  • Bring: 

    • Your own lunch 
    • Plenty of non-alcoholic drinks for the day 

 

Safety Gear (Helmet Requirement) 

  • You need a Snell-rated helmet: 2015 or newer 
  • Motorcycle helmets with the same Snell designation are acceptable 
  • The club has loaner helmets available (limited)

  • Drivers are divided into 7 classes based on car type/performance. 
  • Classing is optional: you may choose TO (Time Only) instead of a Porsche class.

Cost 

  • Autocross Registration: $60.00 

 

Directions (Colorado Air and Space Port Autocross Site) 

Important: Do not use GPS with the airport address—GPS may route you to the main terminal (wrong location). 

Route: 

  1. Take I‑70 East to Manila Road Exit 299 
  2. Turn left (North) to the stop sign at Highway 36 (Colfax) 
  3. Continue North on Manila Road, cross Highway 36 and go over the railroad tracks 
  4. Make an immediate right in front of the Front Range airport sign, go through the gate 
  5. Follow the road east, then north to the autocross site 

 

Approximate Day Schedule (Key Times) 

Tech inspection (“Top Tech”) happens before the course goes hot. 

  • After parking: 

    • Remove all loose items from car + trunk(s) 
    • Leave hood/frunk and trunk open for inspection 
    • After passing, sticker is checked and everything is closed 

Timeline 

  • 7:30–8:30 GATE IS OPEN - Registration/check-in at gate (gate closes promptly at 8:30) 

  • 8:30–9:00 Course open for walking 

  • 9:00–9:30 Drivers meeting (mandatory) 

  • 9:45 Corner workers out (Group B) 

  • 10:00 Group A first car on course (AM) 

  • 10:45 Group B first car on course (AM) 

  • ~12:00 Lunch break (bring your own lunch + non-alcoholic drinks) 

  • ~12:45 Corner workers out (Group B) 

  • ~1:00 Group A first car on course (PM) 

  • ~1:45 Group B first car on course (PM) 

  • ~3:00 Course tear down 

  • ~3:00 “Beer :30”

Season Scoring (How Points Work) 

  • Fastest driver in each class gets 1000 points 

  • Others get points based on: 

(Driver’s Time / Fastest Class Time) × 1000 

  • Only fastest runs of the day are scored 

  • To qualify for a season championship: 

  • Must score points in at least 4 events in a season 

  • You may compete in multiple classes, but can only qualify for championship points in one 

  • If an event is canceled, the minimum event count adjusts to at least 51% of season events 

  • Points cannot be transferred to another class 

  • Standings use each driver’s best 4 events 

  • Tiebreakers: 

  • Highest average score from best 4 events 

  • If still tied, highest average score from best 5 events
